I would like to dedicate this blog to the four people who were most influential in teaching me how to read, my parents and my maternal grandparents. Little did they know more than two decades ago that their choice to pick up a book and read to me would influence me throughout elementary, middle, high school, and college to keep leisurely reading, as well as direct me towards my future career choice.

Thank you so much for raising me into the word-loving, book admirer that I have become. I can't wait to transfer the gift of literacy that you gave me to thousands of children in my classroom in the future, as well as my own children some day!
